The League Records section focuses on Past
Season Prizewinners, Individual and Team Records
of The Playersí League over its history.
Individual Prizes are awarded for performance
during the regular season. Individual and Team
records are with respect to performance during a
season or performance during a given match.
Match records can be accomplished during the
season or in the play-offs.
We have defined the terminology on this page so
that you may better appreciate the
accomplishments of our league players.
Season ñ
Includes the total number of matches that a team
is scheduled for between the start of seasonal
play and the season ending play-offs. The
Playersí League has Spring, Summer and Fall
seasons.
Match ñ
A match is either played during the regular
season or in the play-offs. It is not more than
31 games in length.
Wins ñ
When a player has successfully pocketed the
9-ball resulting in winning the game.
Game ñ
A game begins with a break shot and concludes
with the 9-ball being pocketed.
High Average ñ
Is the player who has completed the season with
the highest average. High average is calculated
for a player by dividing their wins by the
number of their total games played.
Total Runs ñ
The total number of a playerís Runs from the
break (RB), Run outís from opponents break (RO)
and Baby Dolls (BD) added together with respect
to a given period of time.
Run from the break (RB) -
When a player runs all the balls from their
opening break shot including pocketing the
nine-ball.
Run out from opponents break (RO) -
When a player runs out all the remaining balls
after the opponents unsuccessful break shot. An
unsuccessful break shot is considered either
failing to pocket a ball or scratching on the
break. The number of balls left on the table
following the break shot prior to the start of
the run out does not matter.
Baby Doll (BD)
- A nine ball run not off of a break shot at any
time during a game.
Total Caroms -
The total number of a playerís Carom Outs (CO)
and Carom Wins (CW) added together with respect
to a given period of time.
Carom Win (CW) - Winning
a game by either a combination or billiard in
which both players have had turns.
Carom Out (CO) -
Winning a game by either a combination or a
billiard concluding an inning, which started
from the players, break shot.
Nine on the break (9) -
Player pockets the 9-ball on the break shot
without fouling.
Foul out (FO) -
Getting your opponent to commit three (3)
consecutive fouls.
Stats -
The total number of a playerís Runs from the
break (RB), Run outís from opponents break (RO),
Baby Dolls (BD), Carom Outs (CO), Carom Wins (CW),
Nines on the Break (9) and Foul Outs (FO) added
together with respect to a given period of time.
Improvement ñ
The amount an individual player raises their
season average with respect to their historical
average with The Playersí League. This can be
calculated by subtracting their Historical
average from their season average.
